Information we process

CareerCertFinder does not currently provide public user accounts, a newsletter, a public contact form, affiliate tracking, Google Analytics, or Google AdSense. The limited information that may still be processed includes:

  • Technical server, security, and diagnostic records, such as an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, referring page, and error data
  • Strictly necessary WordPress authentication, preference, security, caching, or network-management information used by authorized administrators or infrastructure
  • A sender’s email address, name, message, and any other information voluntarily included in a direct email
  • Internal editorial, evidence, and correction records needed to research certification pages and respond to accuracy reports

We do not ask visitors to create an account or submit sensitive personal information to use the public catalogue.

03

Purposes and lawful bases

Technical information is used to deliver pages, secure and troubleshoot the service, prevent abuse, investigate errors, maintain backups, and understand whether the website is operating correctly. Direct-email information is used to respond to the sender, assess a correction or privacy request, keep an appropriate record, and protect legal rights.

These activities generally rely on our legitimate interests in operating a safe, accurate, and reliable information service. We balance those interests against the effect on individuals and limit the information used. We may also process information to comply with a legal obligation. If optional analytics, advertising, or another technology requires consent, it will not be enabled on the basis of this notice alone; an appropriate consent choice and updated disclosure will be provided first.

04

Service providers, sharing, and transfers

CareerCertFinder uses WordPress hosting supplied through Hostinger. Hosting, security, caching, domain, email, backup, and technical-infrastructure providers may process limited information to deliver and protect their services. Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, establish or defend legal rights, investigate misuse, or protect people and systems.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share email addresses with certification providers for marketing. Some technical providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires a transfer safeguard, we expect the relevant provider arrangement to use an applicable adequacy regulation, contractual safeguard, or another lawful mechanism.

05

Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress and supporting infrastructure may use storage that is strictly necessary for administrator authentication, security, caching, network management, or a function requested by the user. Optional analytics, advertising personalization, affiliate tracking, newsletter measurement, and behavioural profiling are not active at the effective date shown above.

The Cookie Policy explains the current position in more detail. Before optional storage is enabled, CareerCertFinder will identify the relevant purpose and provider, update its notices, and provide a valid choice where consent is required.

06

Retention and security

Information is retained only while reasonably necessary for the purpose described above, applicable legal obligations, dispute handling, security, and normal backup cycles. Relevant factors include the nature and sensitivity of the information, why it is needed, the risk of harm, and the retention controls available from the relevant infrastructure provider. Direct correspondence is periodically reviewed and deleted or anonymized when it is no longer reasonably required.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect the information we control. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so visitors should avoid including unnecessary confidential information in email.

07

Your privacy choices and rights

Subject to the circumstances and applicable law, individuals may have rights to be informed; request access to their personal information; correct inaccurate information; request erasure or restriction; object to processing; receive eligible information in a portable form; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and complain to a regulator. CareerCertFinder does not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Send a request to contact@careercertfinder.com. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm identity and locate the relevant records. UK concerns may also be raised with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

08

CareerCertFinder provides general professional-certification information and is not designed as a service directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or provide personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information may contact us.

External provider websites control their own privacy practices, and visitors should read the notice on the external service they use. This Privacy Policy will be reviewed when material tools, purposes, vendors, business models, or legal requirements change. A revised version will display a new effective date and, where appropriate, a more prominent notice.

FAQ

Privacy Policy review

The Privacy Policy must continue to match the real operator, hosting account, security tools, email handling, retention approach, consent controls, analytics, advertising, and any international data transfers in production. The related Cookie Policy must use the same service inventory and consent categories.

The privacy contact route and rights-request process should be tested periodically. Material inaccuracies can be reported under the Corrections Policy, and a service change must be reflected before an outdated privacy description is relied upon.

Verification beyond this page

This draft privacy policy describes the current development setup and identifies information that must be confirmed before launch. The privacy policy must always match the real operator, processing purposes, service providers, retention approach, and user choices.

For broader independent context, consult UK Information Commissioner's Office privacy guidance. An external reference provides context; the issuing organization remains authoritative for its own current credential rules.
